Creating An Internet Marketing System

Too many people come online looking to make money within a clue. I know that’s a rather blunt statement, but it’s the truth. I’ve been in this space since 2006 and I see it far too often. A beginner gets online or stumbles upon a promise of instant internet riches. They opt-in to a squeeze page, though they don’t know that’s what it’s called.

Then they read a long page with lots of testimonials and proof that this can’t fail proven product works. So, they buy it. And then they either read the ebook or not. Most don’t even read it. They just buy it and wait for something to happen. Of course, when nothing happens and they find themselves in the same boat, they get upset at either themselves or the product creator.

And then they go out and start over. But this time, they’re more savvy. They look for better products, better ideas, maybe even a software that will just do the work for them. So they buy that one click software only to find that it’s not very easy to setup and use. And maybe now they have to buy hosting or a domain name… and what’s this talk about an autoresponder?

Oh boy… it’s getting real now.

Finally, the person usually just gives up. They think they’ve given it a go and it just didn’t work out for them or whatever. But here’s my point in all this. Did this person ever really start a business? Did they ever use an actual internet marketing system? Odds are,  no, they did not.

Because a system actually does work. As long as it’s been tested and converting, system works. You can count on them. And that’s why my business partners and I create. We create 7 figure+ marketing systems. And we’ve got another big one coming out in a few months. When it comes out, you’ll hear about it.

Because odds are, half the people in the internet marketing and network marketing niche will want in on it. And that’s cool. The reason why they want in is because we have a system that works. Prospects come in one side and buyers come out the other.

So, I want to stress to you that you need to do more than just buy a product. Study the process that sold you that product. Because that’s what marketing is. It’s the HOW. The product is your WHAT, but the marketing is how you’re going to sell your product. Within a good marketing system, you’re dead in the water.

I’ll write more on creating marketing systems, but for right now, go buy something and take notes on every single page you see. That will show you a process that is currently working for that product owner. And heck, even if you don’t use the product at all, at least you know you’ll get something out of it this time.

Market Research: Give Your Customers What They Want

When it comes to successful marketing, the biggest problem I see beginners making is focusing on WHAT they are going to sell. Sadly, this is generally a recipe for failure. And the bad part is, this is what makes the most sense. As the quote goes, “build a better mousetrap and the world will beat a path to your door.”

In some instances, this may be true. Some of the greatest inventions of our time were new ideas. From the combustible engine to the IPAD, there weren’t people asking for these things. If you asked someone what they wanted before the invention of the automobile, they wouldn’t say a “moving vehicle”… they’d want a faster horse because that’s all they knew.

So, there is a time and place for stretching your customer and changing the paradigm of their thinking. But, in general, you need to focus not on what your customer NEEDS… but instead on what they want.

Here’s the truth about marketing/psychology/life in general:

People don’t go after what they NEED… they go after what they WANT.

Sure, we buy things we need. Like toilet paper, tooth paste, and mouth wash. (At least I hope we all buy those things! ;) But, most of these type products are bought based on price… not status. These types of businesses are “commodity based” models where ultimately competitors get into a bidding war and drive the profits margins down to 2 or 3%.

So, unless you want to sell basic “need” items for peanut profit margins – what else can you do?

The answer is easy…

Sell people what they WANT!

This is a terrible example, but unfortunately I’m going to use it. Have you ever had the displeasure of living with someone or knowing someone who was addicted to hardcore drugs? They would rather buy drugs than take care of their family, they’d steal from you just to get their next fix.

Reason is thrown out the window – they are focused only on one thing – what they want.

Now, I’m not saying you should go and sell drugs by any means!! ;)

What I’m saying is this.

Instead of starting with WHAT you are going to sell… instead focus on WHO you are going to sell to. This makes life a whole lot easier. Take a look at what is already working, at what people are already buying. Then – sell that.

I know it’s not sexy or glamorous and it can be more exciting to dream up the next IPAD… but trust me, it’s pretty exciting when you see sales popping everyday in your bank account.

So, that’s where you need to start at. Decide what people want by doing proper Market Research. Use the Google Keyword Tool (google that term to find it) and you can see if people are already searching for your idea. And if they are, BAM – you’re onto something.

How To Make Money Selling Information Products Online

Lately on the internet, there’s been a really big push all about making money selling information products online. And hey, I can’t say I don’t agree with the principle. I’ve been selling information for almost 4 years now, and it definitely has a LOT of benefits. In this article, I’m going to show you exactly how to make money selling information products online.

Because the truth is, it’s not rocket science. And anyone REALLY can do it if they have a few easy steps to follow. Here are those steps. Copy, Profit, Repeat.

Getting Started With Information Product Creation

The first step is finding and/or creating an information product to sell. To be honest this is the easiest part. They usually come in one of these formats:

1) Ebook, PDF, anything written.

2) Audio/Video/Multimedia. Anything you listen/watch.

3) Software/Entertainment. This includes tools, and even hollywood movies.

You probably never thought about it but music, film, tv…all that is really just information. You are paying for what’s on the CD…not the CD itself. In reality, a CD cost about 3 cents. But put an artist we like on it and we’ll gladly pay $15 for it. (Or at least buy it on itunes).

So, step one to make money selling information products online is to create your product. You can do this by first finding a potential niche to target to. This is a secret most people miss out on. Before you can create a product, you MUST know who you are going to sell it to. This is especially true with information products.

You must find a target market, I call it a “starving crowd”. This is a group of people ready and willing to buy your product. Where do you find them? Look for forums and groups on yahoo. Google search your “idea+forum”. So if you were trying to produce information products about dog training, look in dog training forums.

Find out what they are buying and make something like it. If you don’t know, then find an expert. Interview them. Record it. Transcribe the interview. Now you have an ebook AND an audio to sell online.

That’s truly how easy it is. But now what?

So Now You Have Information Products To Sell

Your next step is to setup a system that sells the information product for you. If you don’t have this, then you don’t have anything to sell. In essence you need to create an online marketing system. This all starts with a website. And it can’t be just any old website. You have to make sure it’s setup for success. You should have a great story that goes along with your product.

This is done through what is called copywriting. Copywriting just means writing sales material to sell your product. This is one of the most overlooked details when it comes to making money selling information products. I highly recommend you check out copywriting programs as soon as you can.

What Are The Best Information Products?

It’s not always easy to decide what the best information products are. This is because you can’t really compare them. The truth is that it all comes down to the quality you put into each product. You can make a lot of money online selling information products because there is very little hard cost.

Think about it. If you sell TV sets, there’s a hard cost there. You have to buy the TV’s, store them, then sell them. You (hopefully) make enough money back to pay for everything. With this type of business, you have no real expense beyond creating the product one time. (Th ebook or audio/video, etc.)

Once you have this, every sale is basically 100% your money to keep. And the more you sell, the more you will profit. This is especially true if you are selling online as a download. There’s no cost to print your product, make a CD, or ship it. It’s all done instantly online.

Your only expenses are the original creation of the product, hosting it on the web, and the cost of getting traffic to your site. As long as your expenses are less than your income, you are doing great. And this applies to the marketing of information products and services as well. That’s why I recommend both of these business models to so many people.
